Box Score Atlanta, Ga. --- Led by Cornell Barnett's 20-point, 10-rebound performance, the Clark Atlanta University Panthers earned a 75-72 victory over the visiting Albany State Golden Rams on Monday night in Epps Gymnasium. The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opponents battled back-and-forth all game, with neither team leading by more than five points in the second half.
The Panthers (6-18, 5-12 SIAC) fell behind early in the first half, trailing by 10 with eight minutes remaining in the first frame. The team would quickly rebound however, eventually taking a three-point lead into the locker room at half time.
The Golden Rams had possession in the final seconds of the game, but would step on the baseline turning the ball back over to the Panthers, who would then hit two free-throws to seal the victory.
Dominique Pollard led Albany State with 20 points.
The Clark Atlanta University Panthers Department of Athletics and the men's basketball team honored it's three seniors before the game. Kenneth Green, Johnell Young and Earl Lawrence played in their final home game for CAU tonight.
