Baseball Drops Doubleheader to Miles College

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Fairfield, Ala. --- The Clark Atlanta University Panthers baseball team hit the road on Saturday looking to get it's first wins of the season against fellow Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) member Miles College, but were unable to get the results they hoped for. Miles won a nail biter in the first half of the doubleheader, 4-2, and followed it up with a big victory, 17-1.

The Panthers (0-4, 0-2 SIAC) looked to have a chance in the first game as they brought the winning run to the plate in the top of the final frame, but were unable to produce any runs as the Golden Bears were able to hang on for the victory.

Game two started out with a scoreless first inning, but that would quickly change, and not in the Panthers favor. Two errors, one walk, one balk and one hit batter would lead to five runs in the bottom of the second for the home team. From there on, it would be hard for CAU to produce any offense as MC would get a solid effort from it's pitchers.

It will be one week before the Panthers are able to take the field looking to right the ship as they travel to Augusta, Georgia, on Saturday, February 21st, to take on Paine College. the first game of the doubleheader wills start at 12 pm.
