ATLANTA, Ga. - Clark Atlanta led after the opening quarter and after the first half but needed three late free throws from
Mykala Jones to send the game to OT before falling to visiting DI Florida A&M, 98-88.

HOW IT HAPPENED:Mykala Jones gave Clark Atlanta the first lead of the game, 7-6, after connecting on a 3-pointer off the
Sydni Davis assist with 6:53 remaining in the opening quarter. CAU would not trail again in the opening quarter.
Siera Bubb out back the Davis miss with 58 seconds to play in the quarter for the largest lead of the game for Clark Atlanta, 21-9. Florida A&M would add a late jumper to cut the advantage to 21-11 after the opening ten minutes.
Florida A&M would outscore CAU 26-10 in the second quarter, but CAU failed to relinquish the lead and entered the halftime break with the 41-37 lead.
The Lady Rattlers retook the lead in the third quarter with 4:44 remaining after Kenya Dixon made her FT after being fouled on a layup, 48-47. Neither team would lead by more than three points for the remainder of the quarter.
After three quarters, Clark Atlanta trailed Division I Florida A&M by just two points; 61-59.
CAU fell behind by ten points after an opening 8-0 run by Florida A&M before
Whitney Collins made a jumper, 69-59.
CAU trailed by ten points with five minutes remaining, 77-67, and fought to get within five points with 37 seconds remaining.
Gia Banks was good one two FT attempts and after the Lady Rattlers missed both FT attempts with 12 seconds left CAU was able to advance the ball up court and Jones was fouled on the 3-pointer attempt with three seconds to play. Jones made all three attempts to tie the game, 84-84, to go to overtime.
Florida A&M utilized a 14-4 OT period to pull away for the victory. This was the first OT game for Clark Atlanta on the season.
THE NUMBERS:Five players reached double-digits in scoring behind the team-high 21 from Jones. Banks (20), Bubb (16), Collins (12), and Davis (11) all reached double-digits.
Bubb pulled in a team-high 12 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Collins added seven rebounds.
Davis registered team-highs in assists (five) and steals (three).
CAU was outshot from the floor, 41.8-41.3 percent. Clark Atlanta was 31-for-75 including 4-for-9 from 3-point range. The Panthers were 22-for-26 (84.6 percent) from the FT line.
Clark Atlanta turned 16 turnovers into 16 points.
CAU held the advantage in fast break points, 10-8.
UP NEXT:CAU will have one last home contest on Dec. 29 versus Mobile to end the 2015 portion of the schedule. The game is set for 6:oo p.m.
