ATLANTA, Ga. - Despite
Siera Bubb picking up her second double-double of the season, Clark Atlanta was defeated at home by Shorter; 73-68. The game was decidedly closer than the contest between the two schools over the weekend that saw the Lady Hawks win, 81-61.

HOW IT HAPPENED:Shorter scored the opening points of the game, a 3-pointer from Madison Rice, before Clark Atlanta ran out to a 12-5 lead with 4:44 remaining the first quarter.
Mykala Jones connected on 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions for the Panthers.
Whitney Collins scored on the jumper with 42 seconds left in the quarter for the final points as CAU held the 23-16 lead.
The second quarter saw Clark Atlanta hold Shorter to just six points while scoring 16 to extend the lead going into halftime, 39-22. Shorter was held to 3-for-11 shooting in the quarter while being forced into six turnovers.
Bubb lead the team in the second quarter with five points and six rebounds.
Jones completed the three-point play after making a jumper to open the third and adding a successful FT after drawing the defensive foul to make the score 42-22 for the largest CAU lead of the evening.
Shorter shot 68.8% on 11-for-16 in a 30 point quarter. Clark Atlanta scored just 14 points and held the one point lead going into the final quarter of play, 53-52.
Both teams shot the ball poorly in the final quarter with Shorter shooting 35.7% and Clark Atlanta shooting 30.8%. SU was able to pull away thanks to a 10-for-11 effort from the free throw line, CAU managed to shot just 6-for-12 in the final 10 minutes from the stripe.
THE NUMBERS:Bubb corralled 11 rebounds while scoring 12 points on 4-for-7 from the field and 4-for-6 from the FT line. Bubb added a double-double earlier this season at Saint Leo on Nov. 13 ( 15 points, 19 rebounds).
Jones topped the scoring chart for the fifth time in five games with 29 points.
Sydni Davis reached double-digit points with 12 on 4-for-10 from the floor and 3-for -6 on FT attempts.
CAU scored just eight points in the paint with the bench contributing just eight points.
Clark Atlanta shot 36.2% on the night and 33.3% from 3-point range.
