ATLANTA, Ga. - In the first game of the 2015-2016 home schedule, the women's basketball team for Clark Atlanta lost to Georgia College, 74-67. In the loss, a trio of Panthers scored in double digits.

HOW IT HAPPENED:Clark Atlanta held the lead after the opening quarter, 18-13. The five point lead would be the largest of the night for CAU.
The Panthers trailed, 13-6, with 4:58 to play before ending the quarter on a 12-0 run.
Mykala Jones started the drive with a 3-pointer and
Nekia Sockwell ended the run with a jumper with nine seconds to play.
Georgia College outscored Clark Atlanta in the three remaining quarters; 20-12, 22-19, 19-18.
The Bobcats took the lead , 20-19, with 5:51 until halftime and would not trail again. GC would lead by as much as 10 points in the third quarter, 47-37.
THE NUMBERS:Jones scored 20 points on 8-for-18 from the floor, including 3-for-5 from 3-point range and 1-for3 on FT attempts.
Sydni Davis added 14 points on 5-for-14 shooting. She added a team-high five assists.
Siera Bubb scored 12 points and pulled in nine rebounds. Bubb went 5-for-9 from the floor and 2-for-3 from the line.
Clark Atlanta shot 41% from the floor, 33.3% from 3-point range, and 58.3% on FT attempts.
The Panthers scored just six points in the paint, and received 10 points from the bench.
CAU did maintain the 14-8 advantage in points off turnovers, forcing 17 turnovers in the game.
The difference in rebounds, 49-30, favored Georgia College. GC received 20 points - 23 rebounds from Kadesha Gibbs.
UP NEXT:CAU will host Shorter University tomorrow from Epps Gymnasium at 6:00 p.m.. The two teams squared off last week in Rome, Ga. with Shorter winning the home contest, 81-61.
