ATLANTA, Ga. - Clark Atlanta Volleyball picked up the first Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory of 2015 from Epps Gymnasium with a 3-0 win over Fort Valley State.

HOW IT HAPPENED:SET 1 | Clark Atlanta ended the set with an 8-0 run to close the set. The Panthers never trailed after opening 3-0and holding an early 12-3 advantage.
SET 2 | Fort Valley State held the early lead, 4-1, and the set was eventually tied, 5-5. A back-and-forth set saw the score move to 19-16 favoring the home team before the home team ended the set with a 6-2 run.
SET 3 | Clark Atlanta trailed 3-1 before taking a 6-3 lead. FVSU took the lead again and led 10-8 advantage. A 9-1 CAU run took the lead for good before ending the set by scoring the final three points.
THE NUMBERS:CAU held the advantage in kills, 40-9, aces, 13-3, assists, 37-9, and digs, 32-19.
Cori Smith topped the Clark Atlanta box score with 13 kills and three aces.
Kiara Govan tallied 25 assists and a pair of blocks.
Briana Aldridge recorded six digs.
UP NEXT:Clark Atlanta returns home to host Benedict College on Oct. 8 at 6:00 p.m. from Epps Gymnasium. CAU hosts a 2-0 mark at home.
