ATLANTA, Ga. - On a sloppy field after a day of rain, the running game for Clark Atlanta was sparked by the legs of quarterback Matthew Vincent. Vincent scored twice but the Panthers were defeated on the road at Morehouse, 23-13.

HOW IT HAPPENED:Mathew Vincent scored on a 54 yard run in the first quarter to open the scoring. The play was the longest rush of season for CAU, the first rushing touchdown of 2015 for the Panthers, and gave CAU the lead for the first time this season.
Morehouse tied the game with 7:48 remaining to play in the opening half as part of a 23-point scoring streak in the second quarter to take the lead in the intermission, 23-7.
The third quarter was scoreless for both teams. It was just third scoreless quarter of the season, previously happening in each of the first two games of the season.
Vincent plunged into the end zone on a one-yard dive to cap a 13-play drive. The 2-point attempt failed and CAU trailed 23-13 with 4:10 to play.
Vincent has been involved on all of the six touchdowns for CAU this season: three passing, two rushing, and one receiving.
THE NUMBERS:Clark Atlanta outgained Morehouse in first downs, 17-15.
With 167 yards passing, CAU threw for more yards than Morehouse. Panther quarterbacks were 15-for-40 and averaged 11.1 yards/completion.
The Panthers had 76 snaps over 34:24 in time of possession.
The offense for CAU went 5-for20 on third down conversions and 4-for-7 on fourth down attempts.
Vincent was 12-for-24 passing and 107 yards, he also added 30 yards rushing and the two scores.
Jaha McCray led the receiving game from the backfield with five grabs for 63 yards, including a long of 44 yards.
Antonio Mallard recorded a team-best nine tackles.
Josh Tate added another interception to his season total, his third of the season.
UP NEXT:Clark Atlanta returns home to host Stillman (2-2) on Oct. 10 with the opening kick set for 2:00 p.m. Stillman won the 2014 contest from Tuscaloosa, Ala., 31-26.
