Late Effort Comes Up Short in 22-14 Home Loss To Stillman

ATLANTA, Ga. - Clark Atlanta rallied late to get within a touchdown of Stillman and was poised for the tying score before a turnover ended the threat.  CAU lost the home contest to the Tigers, 22-14.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Stillman opened with a 15-0 run and held the advantage through the intermission.

Dashawn Blow replaced starter, Matthew Vincent, at quarterback and capped a third-quarter drive with a 1-yard run.  The drive covered 90 yards over 11 plays.

SC added another score, a TD run by Standifer, to lead 22-6, early in the fourth quarter.

Jaha McCray found the end zone from four yards for the first rushing score by a Panther running back on the season.  The 2-point conversion was successful capping a seven play, 77 yard drive.

After SC punted, CAU started at the home 7-yard line.  The Panthers drove 92 yards over 10 plays before a fumble at the goal line ended the threat. 

THE NUMBERS:
Clark Atlanta and Stillman were tied in first downs, each totaling 18.

CAU outrushed SC, 140-90, as a team.

Both teams threw the ball 33 times, with Stillman completing 18 pass and Clark Atlanta completing 14. 

CAU totaled 316 yards of offense.  SC outgained the home team with 404 yards.

The Panthers were penalized just four times for 45 yards while the Tigers drew 11 flags for 109 yards.

Each team converted only four 3rd down attempts.

Blow was 9-for-19 with 149 yards in the second half replacing Vincent.

McCray gained 125 yards on 16 carries and the lone score.  McCray ran for game-long 39 yards on a 3rd-and-20.

Devonte Webster hauled in five receptions for 71 yards, including a 34-yard catch.

Travius Blair had a team-long 36-yard reception.

Jacob Mitchell tallied nine tackles. 

Antonio Mallard added five tackles, 2.0 tackles-for-loss, four quarterback hurries, and one sack.
