Men's Basketball Gets First Conference Win

Box Score Atlanta, Ga. --- Led by Najee Whitehead offensively, the Clark Atlanta University Panthers earned their first Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) win of the season over Stillman College, 79-70. Whitehead scored 23 for the game, including 15 from behind the three-point arc. The Tigers of Stillman College were led by Kairo Cannon, who was able to put up 14 in the loss.

The Panthers (2-7, 1-1 SIAC) were able to hold on in a game that featured numerous scoring runs in each direction. The Panthers went on two scoring runs of 10+ points, as Stillman was only able to manage one such occurrence. Overall, the game saw 15 lead changes with the last one coming at the 9:39 mark of the second half, seeing the Panthers gain a lead that they would not relinquish the rest of the way.

The Panthers will return to action on Thursday, January 8th, as they travel to Fairfield, Alabama, to take on the Miles College Golden Bears in SIAC action. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM (CT). The Panthers will return home to Epps Gymnasium on Thursday, January 15th, as they take on Tuskegee University. Tip-off for this game is scheduled for 8 PM (ET).
