Panthers Nab First Conference Win in Double-Overtime

Box Score Atlanta, Ga.- In a thrilling double-overtime win, the Panthers of Clark Atlanta bounced back with their first conference win on the season with an 100-99 victory over Tuskegee University at Epps Gymnasium Saturday.

At the end of regulation Dwayne Bingham's found the bottom of the net with a three-pointer as time expired to send the game into the first overtime. The Panthers were on the board first in the overtime period and held a two-point advantage with 1.3 seconds remaining before the Tigers' Graham Olatunji tapped in the ball on an out of bounds play that forced the game into the second overtime. The Tigers held a three-point lead with 1:46 remaining before CAU reeled off four points down the stretch including a non-contested lay-up by senior Jarrel Joye that gave the Panthers a one point that they never relinquished.

Joye led all scorers with 23 points and a game-high seven assists while Bingham finished with his first double-double on the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Three other Panthers added double-digit points including James Arnold (17), Kevin James (14) and Derek Harper (10). Camden Foster led the Tigers on the boards with 10 as they outrebounded the Panthers 53 to 43. Two Tigers, Olatunji and Richard Dixon, led Tuskegee with 19 points each.

Next, the Panthers will host their second game in a three-game home stint against Stillman College Monday, Jan. 15, @ 8 p.m.
