Columbia, S.C.---While dropping only nine singles sets in three matches, junior Brionne Bachus helped the Clark Atlanta University Lady Panthers to a 3-0 finish in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) women's tennis round-up hosted by Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina over the weekend.
The Lady Panthers (5-6, SIAC 4-1) recorded wins over Lemoyne-Owen (8-1), Benedict (6-1) and Tuskegee (6-1) in the three-day conference round-up that culminated Saturday.
With three straight set singles wins from the No. 3 position, Bachus won 37 of 48 sets and teamed up with freshman Vonnick Boyogueno in the No. 1 doubles spot for three wins (8-3, 8-2 and 8-5).
Next, CAU will travel to face Georgia College and State University March 15, for a 4 p.m. match-up, before competing in the second SIAC round-up in Memphis, Tenn.
