Clark Atlanta Sweeps Morehouse with Game Two Victory

Senior Guard Logan Shoffner
Box Score Atlanta, Ga.--The Clark Atlanta University Panthers took game two of the AUC battle as they dominated the Maroon Tigers of Morehouse College in an 85-67 win Saturday at Forbes Arena.

It was all CAU early as the Panthers (13-10, SIAC 13-6) opened an 11-point lead at the half led by senior guard Logan Shoffner who hit 11 of his 15 points in the first period.

To open the second period, the Maroon Tigers (5-16, SIAC 5-14) put together a brief 6-0 run to cut the deficit to five points (39-34). After a CAU timeout, the Panthers regained their composure and went back to business as usual with their own run, 21 to 6, and increased their lead to 20 points. Clark Atlanta never looked back as they cruised to victory.

Shoffner along with Antonio Burch, Royce Hamilton and Brandon O'Brien scored in double-digits with 15 points while Dishone Gregory chipped in 10 for the Panthers. Shawn Allen led Morehouse with a game-high 19 points and nine rebounds.

The Panthers, who hold second place in the SIAC, swept the Maroon Tigers this year winning the first game meeting in January, 74-66. CAU will host the first of the next three home games Monday, Feb. 13, at 8 p.m., against LeMoyne-Owen, followed by Miles Feb. 15, and Fort Valley Feb. 18.
