Panthers Rebound From Three-Game Skid

Box Score  Atlanta, GA- Senior Royce Hamilton, who scored a team-high 21 points, carried the Clark Atlanta University Panthers to a 73-71 victory over conference foe Tuskegee University Tuesday at Epps Gymnasium.

In a game with seven lead changes and 10 ties, it was a see-saw battle down the stretch. After closing the gap on a 12-point deficit, the Panthers trailed 38-37 at the half. The second-half of play was much more consistent as CAU maintained its first lead of the game with five minutes remaining and never relinquished it. The Golden Tigers came within one-point at the 1:00 minute mark, but it was as close as they would come to the lead.

Three other Panthers along with Hamilton scored in double-digits including Brandon O’Brien 14, Dishone Gregory 13 and Logan Shoffner 10. Tuskegee’s Joshua Eichelberger recorded a double-double with a game-high 30 points and 13 boards. As a team, CAU hit 65 percent from the charity stripe while the Golden Tigers made good on 11-of-26 attempts (47 percent). Clark Atlanta won the battle on the glass 46 to 37.

Next, the Panthers will travel to play in the Owensboro, Kentucky, Thanksgiving Classic Friday, Nov. 25, against Kentucky Wesleyan at 6 p.m. (CST) and Saturday, Nov. 26, against the Missouri-St. Louis at 8 p.m. (CST).
