Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Line coach Cory Sullivan comes to Clark Atlanta University from The University of South Alabama where he was a defensive quality control coach for outside linebackers and defensive line.

In 2016, Coach Sullivan was a part of one of the top turnarounds in the country. The South Alabama defensive unit was the fifth-most improved nationally in scoring defense (-10.3).  The Jaguars finished in the Top 5 in the Sun Belt Conference in pass defense, pass efficiency defense, tackles for loss and third-down conversion percentage against. USA was one of two programs with multiple first-team all-conference honorees. Coach Sullivan was part of a staff that upset SEC foe Mississippi State, nationally ranked San Diego State, and earned the program’s second-ever bowl berth when they played in the Arizona Bowl.

Before coming to South Alabama in 2015, Sullivan spent two years as a Defensive Graduate Assistant Coach at the University of Wyoming. Sullivan has also been an undergraduate assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of Oregon. During his three seasons at Oregon, the Ducks went to three straight BCS bowl games, including a Fiesta Bowl win, a Rose Bowl victory and two conference titles. The Ducks ranked in the top 25 nationally in scoring defense.Â
