Corey Barlow enters his first season as Defensive Coordinator at Clark Atlanta University.

A veteran coach with more than 24 years of collegiate coaching experience, Barlow arrives at Clark Atlanta after serving as Defensive Coordinator at Fort Valley State University. Under his leadership, the Wildcats finished with one of the top defenses in the SIAC and ranked sixth nationally in NCAA Division II total defense.

Prior to Fort Valley State, Barlow coached cornerbacks and free safeties at Alabama A&M University. Before Alabama A&M, he spent three seasons as cornerbacks coach at South Carolina State University.

During his time at South Carolina State, Barlow helped lead the Bulldogs to the 2021 Celebration Bowl championship and the HBCU Black College National Championship. Two of his cornerbacks, DeCobie Durant and Zafir Kelly, earned First Team All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) honors. Durant was also named MEAC Defensive Player of the Year before being selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Before joining South Carolina State, Barlow served two seasons as Defensive Coordinator at Southwest Mississippi Community College, where he coached Demarcus Mitchell, who went on to sign with the New England Patriots.

Barlow also served as Defensive Coordinator at Faulkner University after previously working as Defensive Coordinator and Secondary Coach at Savannah State University. During his season at Faulkner, the Eagles' defense improved significantly, allowing fewer points and fewer total yards than the previous year.

At Savannah State, Barlow also served as Interim Head Coach in 2013.

Earlier in his coaching career, Barlow spent five seasons as cornerbacks coach at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He also coached defensive backs at the University of Rhode Island and spent four seasons on the coaching staff at Morehouse College.

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Barlow attended Fulton High School, where he played under legendary coach Willie Hunter, who later became the longtime head coach at Clark Atlanta University.

Barlow enjoyed an outstanding playing career at Auburn University under legendary head coach Pat Dye. A four-year letterman from 1988–91, he earned First Team All-SEC honors in both 1990 and 1991, was named an All-American as a senior, captained the 1991 Auburn team, and received the team's Most Valuable Defensive Player award. He was also named to Auburn's All-Decade Team for the 1990s.

During his career at Auburn, Barlow helped lead the Tigers to two SEC championships and played in the 1988 Sugar Bowl, the 1989 Hall of Fame Bowl, and the 1990 Peach Bowl.

Following his senior season, he participated in both the Blue-Gray All-Star Game and the Senior Bowl.

Barlow was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fifth round of the 1992 NFL Draft.

He and his wife, the former Tia Reid of Greensboro, Georgia, have three daughters: SeCori, Kai, and Kherington.
