Clark Atlanta Rolls Past Allen with 72-54 Victory

Panthers bounce back with home victory against Allen

ATLANTA — Clark Atlanta extended its strong conference play Wednesday night, defeating Allen 72-54 at L.S. Epps Gym in SIAC action.

The Panthers (13-8, 10-4 SIAC) controlled the game from the start, jumping out to a 40-32 halftime lead before tightening their defense in the second half to secure the win. Xavier Griffith led Clark Atlanta with 19 points, shooting 6-of-13 from the field, including a pair of three-pointers. He also grabbed six rebounds and had one steal.

Jalen Williams and Shemani Fuller added 13 points apiece, with Fuller leading the team on the boards with nine rebounds. Williams contributed on both ends, hitting two three-pointers and tallying an assist and a steal. Clark Atlanta shot an efficient 47% (24-of-51) from the field and 44% (8-of-18) from beyond the arc, while holding Allen to just 33% (19-of-58) shooting.

Allen (5-12, 2-10 SIAC) struggled to keep pace in the second half, managing only 22 points after the break. Jeremiah Francis led the Yellow Jackets with 12 points, while Hunter Johnson added 11.
Defensively, the Panthers dominated inside, recording six blocks and forcing 16 turnovers. Martez Jones and Dior Davis each recorded multiple blocks, while Dez'Mond Perkins swiped three steals.

UP NEXT

The Panthers return to the court on Saturday, February 8 as they head down south to Fort Valley to take on the Wildcats at 3 p.m. inside the HPE Arena.
