ATLANTA, Ga. – The Clark Atlanta University Lady Panthers fell to the Lady Tigers of Edward Waters University for their Home Opener. The Panthers fought an uphill battle, with many high-energy plays, through treacherous fouls and quick pass plays against the EWU defense.

HOW IT HAPPENED

After a slow start, Clark Atlanta used a 6-0 run to erase an 8-2 deficit.
Atreonia Garner brought the Lady Panthers within one (17-16) with a pair of free throws at the top of the second frame.
Janiah Caples drained a pair of threes in the fourth quarter on back-to-back possessions to give the Panthers life while closing out the last 2:44 of the game.
Taylor Bolton hit a clutch three-pointer with 2.8 seconds left in regulation, bringing us to the final score of 61-64.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

The Lady Panthers' scoring leaders, Keyra Peterson with 18 and Trinity Jones with 12, accounted for 30 of the 61 points.
Clark Atlanta led in points off turnovers 21-18, edged EWU in rebound 39-38, and led the game with eight three-pointers, shooting 39% from long range.
