Box Score FORT VALLEY, Ga. — Clark Atlanta pushed Fort Valley State to four sets but came up short in a 3-1 loss Thursday evening at the Health and Physical Education Complex.
The Lady Panthers (1-12, 1-5 SIAC) dropped the first two sets 25-15 and 25-16 before rallying with a strong third-set win, 25-21. Fort Valley (9-1, 5-0 SIAC) responded in the fourth, closing out the match 25-11.
Christen Maloney and Jasmine Moore paced Clark Atlanta's offense with nine kills apiece. Moore added eight digs, while Maloney posted a .200 hitting percentage. Kendall Cook chipped in five kills and two blocks.
Defensively, Nakayla James anchored the back row with a team-high 15 digs. Setter Deja Jackson dished out 20 assists to go along with eight digs and two service aces.
Despite the loss, the Lady Panthers showed resilience in the third set, capitalizing on efficient hitting and key defensive stops to hand the Wildcats their only dropped set of the night.
Clark Atlanta continues SIAC play on October 7 when they play against Middle State Georgia University in a home game.
