Clark Atlanta falls to Miles College in SIAC Quarterfinal

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Clark Atlanta women's basketball team (15-12, 11-8 SIAC) fell short to the Miles College Golden Bears 56-54 on Friday afternoon in the SIAC Women's Basketball Tournament Quarterfinal.

Corriana Evans led all scorers with a game-high 17 points and three rebounds. Trinity Jones chipped in 11 points and a team-high four assists. Faith Bland rounded out the Lady Panthers in double-figures with 10 points and four rebounds.

Despite facing an 11-point deficit in the first quarter, Clark Atlanta fought back to bring the margin within three (15-12) headed into the second quarter. The first half ended with CAU facing a 29-25 deficit going into halftime. The Lady Panthers played from behind for the majority of the second half until Trinity Jones completed a three-point play to knot the score at 54 apiece with 2:24 left to play in the fourth quarter.

Miles College put in a layup with just under two minutes in the fourth to take a 56-54 lead, a lead they would hold on to to outlast the Lady Panthers and advance to the semifinals.
