Lady Panthers Roll Past LeMoyne-Owen Behind Stine’s Career-High Performance

Clark Atlanta finishes 2024 with a win

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Fifth-year senior Denise Stine powered the Clark Atlanta women's basketball team to a decisive 64-41 victory over LeMoyne-Owen on Saturday afternoon at Bruce Hall/Johnson Gymnasium. With the win, the Lady Panthers improved to 8-4 overall and 3-2 in SIAC play.

Stine delivered a career-high 24 points, shooting an efficient 10-of-14 from the field, including four three-pointers. Her scoring outburst set the tone for Clark Atlanta's offense, which broke the game open in the second half. Stine also added three rebounds and two assists in a dominant performance.

Clark Atlanta's balanced attack was on full display, with Lizzie Walker contributing 11 points and seven rebounds, while Atreonia Garner added 12 points off the bench. The Lady Panthers' depth proved crucial, as their reserves outscored LeMoyne-Owen's bench 56-25.

The Lady Panthers took control early, building a 10-point lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Their defensive intensity limited LeMoyne-Owen to just 14 total points in the second and fourth quarters combined. Clark Atlanta forced 21 turnovers and converted them into 28 points while holding their opponent to 31% shooting from the field.

Clark Atlanta also dominated the glass, outrebounding LeMoyne-Owen 39-30, with eight offensive boards leading to second-chance opportunities. The Lady Panthers' ability to control the tempo and execute in transition resulted in 10 fast-break points, further widening the gap.
