Lady Panthers Sweep Allen in Thursday Night SIAC Matchup

Columbia, S.C. -- On Halloween night, Clark Atlanta's own Lady Panthers traveled to South Carolina and took down Allen University for the second time this season, winning it all in three sets.

Clark dominated in all stats accumulating 46 points, 36 kills, four aces, six blocks, 32 assists, and 61 digs.

CAU came out ready to play, scoring four points in a row off of kills and errors. Allen was able to step it up a little after Clark's mishaps and kept the score within three. Regardless of their grit, Clark was able to stay consistent and just dominate in kills, scoring back to back and ultimately leaving the first set with a win 25-15.

Set two Allen kept the same energy and came out swinging, putting up seven against Clark's three points. After Deja Jackson and Madison spells stepped on the court, Clark turned it up. Taking advantage of attack errors and kills from McGee and Williams, this led to a 17-11 point lead against the yellow jackets. Continuing this momentum created another victory for the Lady Panthers with another 25-15 win.

This last set featured a series of errors and impressive plays from both teams. Clark can end it all here.

Early on, Zyara Harrison committed a ball-handling error, followed by Shynique McGee's service error, allowing the score to remain tied. The momentum shifted as Nakayla James and Marli Goodie delivered multiple kills, giving their team a lead. As the set progressed, service errors became a common theme, with players from both teams struggling to maintain consistent serves.
The set concluded with strong plays from Drayton-Campbell, who delivered critical kills and even a service ace. Eventually, the set ended with a score of 25-14, reflecting the Lady Panthers intensity and tenacity against Allen.

Shynique McGee was unstoppable with 11 kills, leading the way in a powerful offensive display, while Halle Mitchell and Madison Spells added their own fire with 7 and 5 kills each. Allanah Drayton-Campbell served up the heat with 2 aces, joined by Nakayla James and Marli Goodie, each nailing one of their own. In the blocking department, Spells, Mitchell, and Dahlia Williams formed a defensive wall with 2 blocks. Drayton-Campbell was also a playmaking superstar, racking up an incredible 29 assists to keep CAU up in the matchup.

The Lady Panthers' next game will be this Friday at 6:00 p.m. against Benedict College in South Carolina.
