ATLANTA, Ga. -- Freshman Atreonia Garner notched her second double-double performance of 2024 to propel the Clark Atlanta Lady Panthers (6-7, 3-5 SIAC) past the Benedict College Tigers (2-12, 3-5 SIAC) 73-51 on Saturday afternoon inside Epps Gymnasium. Clark Atlanta landed a total of four players in double figures led by Garner with a game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

Hannah White, Denise Stine, and Kiara Cole-Messiah each chipped in 11 points to round out the four players in double figures. Stine also facilitated a season-high seven assists on the day.

Clark Atlanta never fell behind in Saturday's win after Deyanna McKinney capped off the first quarter with a made-three to give the Lady Panthers a 16-11 advantage heading into the second frame.

Hannah White and Atreonia Garner combined for eight of CAU's 17 second-quarter points to send the Lady Panthers into the intermission with a 33-21 lead over the Tigers. Clark Atlanta kept their foot on the pedal in the third quarter as a Kiara Cole-Messiah three-pointer swelled CAU's lead to 20 points with just under a minute to play in the third frame.

Clark Atlanta's advantage grew to as much as 26 points in the final quarter as they held on to down Benedict 73-51 for their largest margin of victory this season.

The Lady Panthers won the rebound battle 49-42 while also outsourcing the Tigers in the paint 34-26. Clark Atlanta shot 37.9% from the field, 26.3% from three-point range, and 66.7% from the foul line.
