ATLANTA, Ga. | The Clark Atlanta University baseball team picked up a pair of conference victories on Friday as they took down the Benedict Tigers in doubleheader action at Bill Evans Field. The Panthers took game one, 17-11, while following up with a 13-6 victory in game two. Game three was canceled due to inclement weather.

 HOW IT HAPPENED (GM 1)
- CAU escaped the first inning with a convincing, 8-0, advantage over Benedict.Â
- Both teams remained scoreless until the third inning when Benedict homered to get on the board.
- Darrin Brown slammed a homer to left field to pick up 2 RBIs and extend the Panthers' lead to 10-1 in the bottom of the third.
- BC was able to cut the margin to five after scoring four consecutive runs in the top of the sixth inning.
- The Tigers tacked on four more runs in the seventh frame to get within one score of CAU (10-9).
- CAU responded with three runs in the bottom of the seventh to push their lead back to four at 13-9.
- Four more runs in the eighth inning would swell the Panthers' advantage to 17-9.
- Benedict answered back with two more scores but the comeback effort was squandered by CAU as the Panthers held on to win, 17-11.
ON THE MOUND (GM 1)
- Asa Waites picked up the win on the mound after pitching seven innings with three strikeouts for CAU.
- Justice Page pitched two innings with one strikeout in the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GM 2)
- Benedict scored the game's first run of the day to hold a 1-0 lead in the first frame.
- The Panthers answered back with five unanswered runs to escape the second inning with a 5-1 advantage.
- Both squads tacked on runs until Clark Atlanta held a 12-4 lead headed into the sixth frame.
- Clark Atlanta escaped game two with a 13-6 victory over Benedict to lead the series 2-0.
ON THE MOUND (GM 2)
- Michael Fegins picked up the win after pitching five innings for CAU. Fegins led all pitchers with a game-high four strikeouts.
