Longstreet Scores a Season-High 31 Points in Senior Night Loss to Benedict

ATLANTA, Ga. | Justin Longstreet registered a season-high 31 points in the final game of the regular season but the Clark Atlanta Panthers fell short to the Benedict Tigers 93-78 on Monday night inside Epps Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • Jalen Williams put Clark Atlanta on the board first with a drained three-pointer at the 18:37 mark in the first half.
  • Benedict opened up an 11-3 run to take an 11-6 lead with 12 minutes left to play in the first half.
  • Justin Longstreet scored 13 points in the first half but the Tigers lead stood at 40-25 going into the intermission.
  • BC's lead swelled to 27 points (56-29) with 16:33 left to play in regulation.
  • CAU was able to cut the margin to eight points (83-75) with two minutes left to play. 
  • Despite a stalemate of 53-53 in second-half scoring, Clark Atlanta was outlasted by Benedict 93-78 at the end of regulation.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
  • Justin Longstreet erupted for a game and season-high 31 points with eight threes on the night. Longstreet shot 50 percent from the field, 57 percent from three, and 5-of-5 from the charity stripe.
  • Jalen Williams landed in double-figures with 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field and 4-of-4 from downtown.
  • Demetrius Headspeth led the Panthers on the boards after pulling down a team-high five rebounds with 10 points to add to his stat line.
  • Williams and Longstreet also led the team in assists with five apiece.
  • Despite the loss, CAU shot 46.4 percent from the field and 56.5 percent from three-point land.
