COLUMBIA, S.C. – Clark Atlanta scored the first 20 points of the second half outscoring Benedict 24-5 in the third quarter to win its fifth straight 67-50 in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) game.
Clark improves to 6-6 overall and 5-2 in the SIAC while Benedict drops to 3-9 overall and 1-6 in the conference.
Corriana Evans had a double-double to lead the way with 17 points and 10 rebounds while Janiah Ellis also had 17 points for Clark Atlanta in the win.
The Panthers were 24 of 62 from the field (38.7 percent) and connected on 5 of 18 from 3-point range.
Clark led 33-29 at the break and Benedict would make just 1 of 16 field goals in the third quarter while the Panthers were 9 of 19 in the third as Clark scored the first 20 points of the half to put the game away.
The Panthers are back in action on Monday at Allen University in a SIAC game at 5:30.
