Brianna Pope basket with just under eight minutes left in the first half. A little over a minute later after two Jayda Jackson free throws, a Nolen basket and free throw, they took a 19-18 lead. It stayed close throughout the rest of the half with Allen taking a 26-25 lead into halftime.
The Yellow Jackets took the lead again in the third quarter, twice leading by three points, the second after an Alissa Jones jumper made it 35-32 with 6:03 left in the quarter. But CAU finished the quarter on a 9-2 run, culminated by Pope's free throw just before the quarter ended making the score 41-37.
But the first four minutes of the fourth quarter saw Allen go on their own run 9-5 run to retake the lead at 46-44.  That lead grew to eight points when Jackson tipped in a basket with 3:29 left to make it 52-44. CAU's defense then clamped down, only allowing one Allen field goal the rest of the way.  Evans scored 11 points in that span to help CAU take over the lead and grab the victory.
The Lady Panthers defense came up big Monday, forcing 25 turnovers leading to 22 points and only allowing Allen to hit 26 percent of their shots. They also outscored Allen 32-28 in the paint.
