MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Gjerard Wilson led four players in double figures with 18 points leading LeMoyne-Owen to a 79-59 win over Clark Atlanta in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) game to close out the first semester.
LeMoyne-Owen improves to 8-3 overall and 4-2 in the SIAC while Clark Atlanta drops to 1-10 overall and 0-5 in conference play.
Dez'Mond Perkins led the Panthers with 19 points while
Justin Longstreet was also in double figures with 12 points.
Demetrius Headspeth had a team-high eight rebounds.
Clark Atlanta was 18 of 54 from the field (33. percent) and hit 2 of 12 from 3-point range. LeMoyne-Owen was 30 for 63 (47.6 percent) from the floor and connected on 4 of 15 from behind the arc.
LeMoyne-Owen used an 11-0 run to take a 15-5 lead with 14:16 left in the first half. They led by as many as 15 (34-19) in the half and held a 34-23 at the break.
The Magicians maintained a double digit lead the rest of the way.
The Panthers are back in action at home on January 2nd when they host Central State at 8:00.
