FAIRFIELD, Ala.-- Jalen Williams had a game-high 21 points, but the Panthers dropped the in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opener at Miles 51-43.
Justin Longstreet added 11 points while Demetrius Headspeth grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds for the Panthers.
Clark Atlanta was 16 of 47 from the floor (34 percent) and made 2 of 16 from downtown while Miles was 18 of 47 (38.3 percent) and connected on 3 of 19 from 3-point range.
Miles jumped out to a 12-2 lead with 13:37 left in the opening half and led 25-14 at halftime.
The Panthers used a 10-3 run to start the second half and cut the lead to 28-24 with 15:32 left in the game. Miles would answer with an 11-3 spurt to open up a 39-27 lead with 10:37 left.
Clark drops to 1-5 overall and 0-1 in the SIAC while Miles improves to 5-0 and 1-0.
The Panthers are back in action on Dec. 3rd when they host Spring Hill College at 4:00.
