After a little more than a week off, the Clark Atlanta University baseball team is back on the diamond today when they square off with Savannah State University in Savannah, Ga.

The Panthers (2-4) are playing a three-game set with the Tigers (7-5), beginning with a single game today at 3 p.m. and ending Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.  All games will be streamed live at https://ssuathletics.com/watch/?Live=560&type=Live.

Head Coach Kentaus "KC" Carter's Panthers last played on March 24 when they split a doubleheader at Tuskegee.   CAU's Darrin Brown is riding a five-game hitting streak, getting at least one hit in each game since the Panthers opened the season with a home loss to Savannah State.  After going hitless in that game, Brown is batting .538 with seven hits – two of them doubles, seven runs scored and two runs batted in.

They take on a Savannah State team that swept that three-game series against CAU but has lost three of their last four games.  In their last game on March 22, they fell 7-4 to Edward Waters. Before that, they lost two of three games to Albany State.

Dwayne "DJ" Franklin leads the Tigers at the plate, hitting .406 with thirteen hits, including three doubles. He went 4-for-9 against CAU in their previous three-game series with four RBIs.

CAU mustered only ten hits in three games in that season-opening series.  Savannah State pitching has only allowed hitters to bat .223 so far this season.

Today marks the start of three consecutive road weekend series for the Panthers.  Next week, they visit Albany State, followed by a weekend at Benedict.  CAU returns home to close the season on Saturday, March 24 when they host Benedict in a doubleheader.
