The Clark Atlanta University Lady Panthers close out the home portion of their regular season tonight when they host Fort Valley State University at L.S. Epps Gymnasium at 6 p.m.
It is also the final home game for seniors
Taylor Prude and
Ashley Elmore, who were honored this past Friday night during Senior Night at L.S. Epps Gymnasium.
The Lady Panthers gamely fought against the SIAC East's second place team, Benedict, that night, losing 3-1.
Tonight, the Lady Panthers battle a Fort Valley State (4-14, 3-13 SIAC) team they defeated 3-2 on Oct. 8. In that match, CAU fought back after losing the first two sets, taking the final three sets 25-20, 25-14 and 15-8. Prude had a big night 11 kills and 17 digs, while
Lauryn Terry had 15 kills, four aces and three blocks.
Fort Valley State has lost six of their last seven matches, erasing a seven-game losing streak last week when they defeated Paine College in three sets.
Kia Thomas continues to lead CAU in kills (131 so far this season), while Prude has 129.
TiAna Crider is sixth in digs among all SIAC players while
Chara Robbins is seventh in the SIAC in assists.
After tonight, the Lady Panthers hit the road for their final three games of the season – at Benedict on Friday, Nov. 8, at Paine on Saturday, Nov. 9, and at Savannah State on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
