The Clark Atlanta University Lady Panthers volleyball team fell to 3-0 on the road in an out-of-conference match at Auburn-Montgomery Tuesday.

It's the third loss in a row for the Lady Panthers (4-10) who had won two straight before their current losing streak. For Auburn-Montgomery (10-10) of the Gulf South Conference the win breaks a six-game losing streak.

AUM jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first set, before Lauryn Terry's two kills over the next three points made it 8-2.  But AUM went on a 12-5 run to pull away, maintaining their lead to win the first set 25-10.  It was AUM's first set win in three matches.

The second set started out much like the first as AUM ran out to a 13-2 lead.   They extended their lead to 16 points, winning the second set 25-9.

The Lady Panthers fought back in the third set, leading 11-10 after a kill by Ashley Elmore.  AUM tied and the game and was ahead by only two at 20-18 after an attack error by Lieke Brouwer.  But AUM scored five of the last six points to win the set and the match.

Elmore finished with five kills, four digs, a block and an ace for CAU while Terry also had five kills, along with six digs.  Taylor Prude had four kills, seven digs and an ace, and Tiana Crider added eight digs. Chara Robbins finished with 17 assists and seven digs for the Lady Panthers.

Nyah Wittlesey and Giada Pais-Marden led Auburn-Montgomery with eight kills each.

The Lady Panthers are back on the court Friday when they get back into Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play as they visit Tuskegee.   They return to L.S. Epps Gymnasium on Monday, Oct. 28 when they play Albany State at 6 p.m.
