ALBANY, Ga. – Clark Atlanta softball went to in-state conference rival Albany State and was swept in a three-game series. CAU will have just two more games on the3 road for the remained of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED (FRIDAY):
Albany State opened the game with six unanswered runs in the first three innings. Clark Atlanta picked up the fourth hit of the game in the top of the fourth inning with a single to left field from
Tatianna Kelly to score
Chase Gray-Still who led the inning with a walk.
The Panthers were undone by five errors in the game.
Ajada Cofield pitched the full games surrendering 11 hits and 11 runs – all unearned – while walking two batters.
Kelly connected on two hits while
Jessica Vason and
Lakimia Terrell each had one hit.
HOW IT HAPPENED (SATURDAY GAME 1):
Clark Atlanta led early with two runs in the first inning and later tied the game 9-9 with a five-run fourth inning before ASU scored the final eight runs of the game.
Terrell provided a double in the first inning to score Kelly and Gray-Still.
Kayla Montague added a second-inning RBI double scoring
Sharnitra Woods.
The fourth inning had
Cailla Williams triple with the bases loaded to score Terrell, Kelly and Vason. Williams later scored on a single from
Sharnitra Woods who would later cross home with a walk to Montague with the bases loaded.
Kelly, Terrell and
Sharnitra Woods each picked up three hits in the game with Kelly scoring three times.
Shalonda Woods (3-7) pitched the complete game yielding 23 hits and 16 earned runs.
HOW IT HAPPENED (SATURDAY GAME 2):
Kelly collected two of the three Panther hits with a third inning two-run homerun from Gray-Still providing the only runs for CAU in the game.
Cofield (7-8) tossed her 12th complete game of the season in the effort with 12 hits allowed and 11 runs – eight earned – allowed and one strikeout.
