ATLANTA, Ga. - Clark Atlanta softball hosted Edward Waters for a midweek doubleheader and lost in both games to the visiting Tigers; 5-3 and 6-2. Defensive miscues hurt the Panthers as four errors were committed, including three in the opening game.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1):
Edward Waters scored three unearned runs in the top of the first inning to take the lead. The Clark Atlanta defense committed a pair of errors allowing the trio of runs to score on just one hit.

EWC added a run in the top of the fourth prior to
Tatianna Kelly pulling CAU within one run with a 3-run homerun - her fifth of the season - to left field. EWC added another run in the fifth to end the scoring.

Clark Atlanta had six hits, each by a different player.

Ajada Cofield (7-6) pitched the complete game allowing just one earned run and striking out two batters.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 2):
A four-run first inning for Edward Waters put the visiting ahead with just one base hit in the inning. The visiting team would score two more times in the fifth inning to lead 6-0.

Kelly picked up the first Panther hit in the home fifth inning on a single to center field after
Sharnitra Woods led the inning by reaching on a hit batter. Woods scored the first CAU run on a sacrifice bunt from
Cailla Williams.

CAU added a run in the bottom of the seventh with Kelly scoring on a double to right center from
Lakimia Terrell after Kelly singled down the line to left field with two outs.

Cofield came on in relief of
Shalonda Woods (3-6) and threw seven more innings yielding three runs - all earned - on eight hits.

Clark Atlanta will go on the road for a conference weekend series at Albany State University with one game on Friday and a doubleheader on Saturday.
