FULL WEEKEND STATISTICS
JASPER, Ala. - The annual SIAC Crossover saw the Clark Atlanta University softball team pick up three wins in five games. CAU defeated Kentucky State on the opening day and won twice on the second day over Tuskegee and LeMoyne-Owen. Clark Atlanta now sits 11-14 Overall (7-2 SIAC) with ten home games remaining in the 2017 season.
HOW IT HAPPENED (KENTUCKY STATE - W| 5-1):
Clark Atlanta scored four times in the home first inning on the way to the victory.
Jacey Gray scored on the RBI single from
Jessica Vason.
Sharnitra Woods added an RBI single scoring
Lakimia Terrell before Tatiana Kelly added the 2-run double to score
Chase Gray-Still and
Sharnitra Woods.

CAU plated one more run in the fifth inning with Vason scoring on the RBI single from
Sharnitra Woods.

Ajada Cofield pitched the complete game allowing just three hits and one run while striking out five batters and giving up no walks.
HOW IT HAPPENED (MILES - L| 10-2):
The Panthers scored in the top of the first a Gray scored on a defensive miscue by Miles. Miles tied the game in the home half of the inning.

CAU scored a second run in the top of next inning with Gray-Still scoring on another Miles error. MC would score nine unanswered for the victory.

Gray-Still collected the only two hits for the Panthers in the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED (TUSKEGEE - W| 12-6):
Clark Atlanta scored the first eight runs of the game highlighted by a
Sharnitra Woods homerun in the second inning and a 3-run homerun in the third inning.
Shalonda Woods added a pair of RBI singles during the stretch scoring Kelly both times.

The sixth inning saw Vason pick up a 3-run homerun along with
Sharnitra Woods adding her fifth RBI of the game for the final run scored.

Cofield tossed another complete game with five strikeouts while allowing eight hits and three walks.
HOW IT HAPPENED (LeMOYNE-OWEN Â - W| 15-7):
Shalonda Woods threw the complete game with three strikeouts and seven hits while allowing just five earned runs.

CAU scored four times in the first three innings before each team scored twice in the fourth inning.

The fifth inning saw LOC cross home plate five times before a nine-run fifth ended the game for CAU. The final inning had the Panthers score nine times on five hits while the defense committed four innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED (SPRING HILL Â - L| 6-3):
After falling behind 6-0 after three innings CAU scored all three Panther runs in the fourth inning on a Gray-Still homerun to centerfield. Gray-Still collected three of the six Panther hits in the final game of the event.
UPNEXT:
Clark Atlanta will host Edward Waters for a doubleheader on Mar. 21. The two teams played earlier this year in Jacksonville, Fla. with the teams splitting the two games.
