HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Clark Atlanta men's basketball season came to an end in the opening round of the NCAA South Regional to The University of Alabama in Huntsville; 96-81. CAU remains winless in four games in the NCAA South Regional following games in 1996, 2010 and 2011.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Half | After an opening 3 from UAH, Tm Sanders was good on a jumper for the first CAU points of the game with 18:40 on the clock.
Anthony Williams gave CAU the lead on a 3-pointer; 5-3 and later added another 3 for the 10-8 CAU advantage. Sanders went 2-for-2 from the FT line with 13:02 to play to pull Clark Atlanta within three points; 17-14.
Chuka Eneh tied the game with a 3 as the shot clock was winding down showing 12:15 on the game clock; 17-17. A third 3 from Williams pulled CAU within one point; 21-20 and he connected on a fourth with the Panthers trailing 25-23. Clark Atlanta moved ahead when
Derek Harper was good on a 3-pointer; 26-25. Williams added another 3 as CAU took the 29-28 advantage with 8:40 left in the first half. Eneh added another 3 for the 6-0 Panther run to lead 32-28. Back-to-back baskets by
Michael Brittain and
Damien Davis gave the Panthers a six-point lead with Williams adding assists on both baskets; 38-32. After UAH took the lead on a 6-0 run Davis gave CAU the advantage back with a layup; 42-41.

UAH ended the half on a 18-3 run to go into the intermission leading by eight; 50-42.

Clark Atlanta opened the half shooting 8-for-16 from 3-point range and ended the half 8-for-20 from behind the arc. The panthers shot 16-for-33 (48.5 percent) from the floor. CAU made just 3-of-9 from the FT line and trailed the rebounding battle 20-15.
Second Half | UAH continued the run with the first four points of the second half before a jumper from Davis and a 3 from Eneh started the second half Panther scoring; 57-48. Eneh added a layup on the fast break off the assist from
Tajai Johnson with 15:52 left in the game; 61-50. Johnson pulled the Panthers within 12 points with a 4-0 run; 70-58. Brittain added layups on back-to-back trips down the court ahead of a jumper from Johnson as CAU trailed; 75-64.

Clark Atlanta pulled within eight points after a 6-0 run with a pair of layups from Johnson along with one from Davis; 83-75.

The Chargers used a game-ending 11-3 run after the Panthers pulled within seven points for the victory.
TEAM NUMBERS:
Clark Atlanta shot 31-for-65 (47.7 percent) from the floor along with going 12-for-33 from 3-point range. The Panthers went just 7-for-19 from the FT line.

CAU led in second chance scoring, 8-3, and scoring on the fast break, 6-0.
INDIVIDUAL NUMBERS:
Four Panthers scored in double figures as Johnson had the team-high 19 points followed by Williams (17), Davis (14) and Eneh (11).
Sanders and Williams each had six rebounds while Sanders and Johnson each tallied five assists.
