FORT VALLEY, Ga. - Clark Atlanta women's basketball traveled to Fort Valley State for a non-conference matchup versus the in-state opponent and claimed the 79-65 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter | Fort Valley scored to begin the game before Clark Atlanta took the lead on a 5-0 run started with two baskets from
Lauren Turner and ending with a FT for
Marissa Mandeldove. FVSU retook the lead using an 8-2 run before CAU moved ahead on a
Nicole Graham 3-pointer, 11-10, with 4:37 to play in the quarter. The Lady Wildcats went on an 11-5 run to close the quarter leading by five points; 21-16.

Second Quarter | Clark Atlanta outscored Fort Valley in the second quarter, 16-15, with the Panthers twice making a layup and the ensuing FT after a foul. Graham converted the three-point-play at the 8:20 mark while
Naquaisha Rattray repeated the feat with 3:17 to play. CAU ended the half on a 4-0 run as
Sydni Davis made a jumper and Rattray beat the buzzer with a layup.

Clark Atlanta shot 13-for-42 (31 percent) from the floor while making just 1-of-10 from behind the 3-point line. The Panthers were outrebounded 38-22 and forced 13 FVSU turnovers that were converted into 10 points.

Third Quarter | Mandeldove converted three layups to start the half ending a 10-0 run overlapping the intermissions.CAU extended the advantage utilizing 17-7 run to build a double-digit lead; 55-45. The run was anchored by nine points from
Reyana Miller and four points from Turner. The lead was narrowed to just three points, 57-54, on a 9-2 FVSU run ending the quarter. The Panthers outscored the Lady Wildcats 25-18 in the quarter.

Fourth Quarter | An early layup for FVSU pulled the home team to within one point, 57-56, before a 5-0 CAU run pushed the lead back to 62-56 after a FT from Graham, and jumper from Miller and a Mandeldove layup. FVSU was within four points before Graham knocked down a 3-pointer sparking a 7-0 run with CAU leading with 2:29 to play; 72-61. CAU added seven points from the FT line in the final 79 seconds to outscore the home team in the final 10 minutes; 22-11.
TEAM NUMBERS:
CAU shot 30-for-70 (42.9 percent) from the floor while going 17-for-28 from the FT line. The Panthers were just 2-for-13 from 3-point range.

Clark Atlanta held the advantage in points off turnovers, 20-8, points in the paint, 32-20 and fast break scoring, 14-2.

The Panthers forced 20 turnovers while committing just 13. CAU was outrebounded 59-46 as both teams corralled 32 defensive rebounds.
INDIVIDUAL NUMBERS:
Four Panthers scored in double-digits led by 17 points by Miller with Mandeldove (16), Turner (16) and Graham (13) also reaching the benchmark.

Turner had a team-high eight rebounds while Mandeldove had the game-high six steals. Graham tied for the game-high by registering three steals. Both Turner and Rattray had two blocks in the game.
