ATLANTA, Ga. - Clark Atlanta softball suffered a doubleheader sweep in the first home games of the season to Tusculum College; 8-4 and 9-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1:Clark Atlanta plated a run each in the first two innings.
Kendall Washington opened the game with a double to right field and later scored on the RBI single from
Sharnitra Woods.
In the second inning,
Zhandria Usher singled to right centerfield before being swapped out for
Desiah Wofford. Wofford later came around to score on an RBI single to left field by Washington.
After Tusculum scored once in the third inning, CAU responded with a pair of runs to hold the 4-1 lead after three innings.
Sharnitra Woods opened the inning when she was hit by a pitch and later scored when Usher hit the long homerun to left center.
Tusculum erupted for four runs in the fifth inning before adding one in the sixth and two in the seventh.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 2:Tusculum scored twice in each of the first two innings. A four-run fifth inning put the visiting team ahead by eight runs forcing the game to be called early after four batters reached the plate in the bottom of the inning.
THE NUMBERS:Game One: 4 runs, 9 hits, 1 error
Game Two: 0 run, 2 hits, 4 errors
Washington went 3-for-4 in the first game, scoring once and driving in one. User and
Tenicia Winston added two-hit games in the opener.
Veranae Woods and
Ingrid Sims picked up the lone Panther hits in the second game.
UP NEXT:Clark Atlanta will be on the road for the next month, with the next home games set for Mar. 6 versus Carson-Newman. CAU will play road games at Anderson University and Fort Valley State to end February.
