AMERICUS, Ga. - Clark Atlanta baseball was swept in a Saturday doubleheader to open a three-game road series at Georgia Southwestern; 7-4 and 12-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1:After trailing by three runs, Clark Atlanta rallied with three runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Michael Haywood, Jr. was the first base runner after getting hit by a pitch.
Johnny Surry followed by reaching on an error to move Haywood to second base.
Ryan Betts loaded the bases by walking . Haywood scored on an error against GSW, keeping the bases loaded with
Cedric Garrett safely reaching at first base.
Malcolm Seabrooks delivered the two-RBI double to right field to bring home Surry and Betts.

Georgia Southwestern scored two more in the bottom of the seventh.

In the visiting eighth, CAU plated one more run.
Randy Rudulph reached on another Hurricane error and later scored on a sacrifice fly by
Jordan Johnson. Clark Atlanta would end the at bat trailing 5-4.

GSW scored twice in the home eighth before retiring CAU 1-2-3 in the ninth inning.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 2:CAU fell behind by giving up 12 runs over the first six innings.
In the seventh inning, Garrett reached base on an error with one out in the inning. Two batters later, Rudulph delivered the RBI sacrifice fly after Garrett advanced to third base on a Seabrooks double.
THE NUMBERS:Game One: 4 runs, 5 hits, 1 error
Game Two: 1 run, 3 hits, 1 error
Jezreel Moore started the opener and tossed seven innings and struck out three while surrendering eight hits.
DJ Taylor and
Alik Shelton combined for the final inning.

Betts started the second game and threw three innings before giving way to Taylor, Shelton, and Johnson. The pitching staff combined to give up eight hits and walked six batters. Johnson struck out two in the final inning for lone strikeouts of the game.
