ORANGEBURG, S.C. - Clark Atlanta women's basketball ended the 2015-2016 regular season with a road defeat at Claflin; 64-58.

HOW IT HAPPENED:Kiyanna Johnson made a 3-pointer to put Clark Atlanta ahead, 3-2, after 1:45 in the opening quarter.
A jumper by
Sydni Davis with 4:48 remaining in the first quarter put the Panthers back in the lead, 12-11.
CAU took a 17-16 lead after
Mykala Jones was good on a 3-pointer with 57 seconds remaining in the first ten minutes.
Jones opened the second quarter with another 3-pointer and added a good FT attempt to give CAU the 21-19 advantage. Back-to-back baskets by
Whitney Collins and
Naquaisha Rattray move the Panthers ahead 25-19 with 6:50 in the first half left to play.
CAU led for the majority of the second quarter before being overtaken with 1:04 left before the half with Claflin leading at the intermission, 36-32.
Another 3 from Johnson put CAU ahead, 42-40, with 5:14 on the clock in the third quarter.
Clark Atlanta trailed, 48-46, heading to the fourth quarter and would fight back to tie the game, 50-50, with 7:07 left in the game. CAU would not be able to regain the lead for the rest of the game.
THE NUMBERS:Clark Atlanta shot 19-for-50 (38 percent) including 6-for-16 from 3-point range.
Jones scored 26 points for the game-high and was the lone Panther in double digits.
Collins added a team-high nine rebounds while being part of the trio with two assist with Jones and
Brandie Robertson.
UP NEXT:Clark Atlanta will wait for the rest of the conference teams to conclude the season before finding out the seeding for the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship to be played in the Birmingham, Ala.
