ATLANTA, Ga. - Clark Atlanta women's basketball outshot Paine 33 percent to 31 percent, but fell short in the final appearance in Epps Gymnasium during the 2015-16 season; 71-64.

HOW IT HAPPENED:After Paine scored the opening basket, Clark Atlanta went on a 7-0 run with four players scoring during the outburst.
Paine retook the lead at the 3:30 mark in the first quarter and Clark Atlanta would trail until
Nekia Sockwell put the Panthers ahead at the 3:25 mark in the second quarter with a pair from the FT line.
Siera Bubb scored the final points of the first half to break a tie with two from the FT line with 46 seconds to play.
Midway through the third quarter CAU was trailing by nine points, 43-34, before the Panthers went on a 12-0 run with
Mykala Jones scoring five points,
Naquaisha Rattray adding layups on back-to-back possessions, and a 3-pointer from
Kiyanna Johnson.
CAU built a 10-point lead, 60-50, utilizing a 14-8 run highlighted by Johnson knocking down 3-pointers on to end the third quarter and to open the fourth quarter.
Paine closed the game outscoring Clark Atlanta in the final quarter, 23-11, while ending the game on a 16-2 run with eight made FT attempts at the end of the game.

THE NUMBERS:Clark Atlanta shot 32.9 percent (24-for-73) from the floor and 3-of-14 from 3-point range. The Panthers shot 13-for-17 from the FT line.
CAU turned 15 Paine turnovers into 16 points.
Clark Atlanta was ahead in bench scoring, 31-20, and fast break scoring, 18-16, but trailed on points in the paint, 32-22.
Four players scoring in double-digits as Johnson posted the team-high 15 points - her second time leading the team in scoring on the season. Jones (13), Sockwell (10), and Rattray (10) also scored in double-digits.
Bubb pulled in a game-high 14 rebounds - including 10 in the first half to go one steal.
Robertson dished out four assists for the team high while Sockwell and Rattray (two) tied for the high mark for CAU in steals.
