Clark Atlanta Never Trails in Rout of Tuskegee; 67-46

ATLANTA, Ga. - Clark Atlanta men's basketball led throughout the game in an easy 67-46 victory over Tuskegee in the opening SIAC game of the season for the Panthers.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Half | Clark Atlanta opened the game with the first two baskets, one by Lawrance Triplett and one by Samson Akilo, as part of a 4-0 lead. With the Panthers leading by just six points, 21-15, CAU went on a 9-0 run over 1:57 late in the opening half to run the advantage to 15 points; 30-15. Tuskegee closed the half on a 6-1 run with the Panthers leading 31-21.

Second Half | The second half advantage quickly stretched to 19 points, 42-23, as Clark Atlanta opened the second half on a 11-2 run. Tajai Johnson started the run with a 3-pointer and later closed the run with a layup. The Panther advantage would close to just nine points as the Golden Tigers went on a 11-1 run midway through the half before CAU ended the game on a 19-7 run over the final 8:36.

TEAM NUMBERS:
Clark Atlanta shot 21-for-43 (48.8 percent) from the floor and 21-for-27 (77.8 percent) from the FT line. The Panthers were aided in the scoring by converting 4-of-12 from behind the 3-point arc.
 
Clark Atlanta held the advantage in points off turnovers, 18-12, points in the paint, 18-16, and fast break scoring, 12-18.

INDIVIDUAL NUMBERS:
Johnson scored 19 points in his first start in two seasons at Clark Atlanta. The point total was a game-high as he was 6-for-8 from the floor and 6-for-8 from the FT line.

Three other starters reached double-digits in points as Triplett scored 11 points while Anthony Williams and Akilo each added 10. Triplett tied for the game-high with six rebounds while Williams led all players with nine assists.
