ATLANTA, Ga. - Clark Atlanta volleyball took to the court three time this week, picking victories over Paine and Albany State before falling at home to Claflin.

HOW IT HAPPENED (PAINE MATCH):
In front of a home crowd of 124, CAU delivered the straight-set win over Paine.
CAU outhit the visitors, .131-.173, aided by hitting percentage that increased from set-to-set (.267, .312, .353). The advantage went to the Panthers in kills (52-26), aces (nine - two), blocks (three -one), assists (51-25), and digs (36-22).
Sierra Scoggins led the match with 15 kills while
Kiara Govan posted 43 assists for the match-high. The Panthers received double-digit dig total from
Dariyan Stallings (12) and Govan (10).
HOW IT HAPPENED (ALBANY STATE MATCH):
The Panthers went on the road and picked up back-to-back 3-0 victories, this time in front of 200 people at Albany State.
Clark Atlanta went .333, .333, .500 in hitting percentage on the way to leading the match .382 - .068. The Panthers again held the statistical lead in all the major categories; kills (36-21), assists (30-19), digs (45-30), aces (six - one).
Ashley Elmore and Scoggins each tallied 11 kills for the match high while
Sabrina Tucker contributed eight. Tucker added two of the three Panther blocks in the match.
Govan added 30 assists while the duo of Stallings and
Tyler Williams each registered 12 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED (CLAFLIN MATCH):
Clark Atlanta was looking for revenge for the 3-0 loss suffered at Claflin on Sept. 30 and came out swinging to take the first set 25-21.
Claflin started with a 4-0 run before CAU came back to tie the set, 4-4. The set was tied, 15-15, after Scoggins scored the point on a pass from Govan leading the Panthers to a 5-0 run. Govan would tally the final set point on an assist from
Brittani Brown.
Claflin would claim victory on the day by winning the next three sets. The final set of the match saw Claflin end the day on a 6-3 run for the 25-15 fourth set victory.
Clark Atlanta was outhit, .277-.138, with CAU posting a high hitting percentage of .222 in the second set.
CAU narrowly trailed in kills (46-43) and assists (41-40), along with aces (nine - eight).
Taylor Prude had the team-high 12 kills, her sixth-double digit effort in the last 10 matches. She also led the team with a trio of aces.
Govan scored 31 aces for the match-high as she surpassed 30 assists in all three matches on the week.
Stallings recorded 13 digs for the match-high with Govan (nine) and
Alexis Williams (four) leading the Panthers.
THE NUMBERS FOR THE WEEK:
Clark Atlanta outhit the weeks opposition, .258-.178, while posting 131 team kills. Scoggins led the week with 35 kills ahead of Prude (26) and Elmore (21).
Govan had 104 assists during the three matches to average 10.4 assist/set. She was also second on the team with 21 digs.
Stallings had 37 digs and four service aces on the week.
