ATLANTA, Ga. - The Clark Atlanta men's basketball team trailed by 12 points at the halftime break, 31-19, but utilized a four-point play
Joseph Hughes with 7:29 remaining to rally for the 74-71 home victory. The win now has CAU with a two-game win streak after previously defeating Young Harris on Dec. 12.

HOW IT HAPPENED:Clark Atlanta had first half leads of two points on three occasions.
Shaw closed the first half on a 12-2 run over the final 4:42. CAU was just 7-for-23 from the floor (20.43 percent) in the opening 20 minutes.
Damien Enoch opened the second half with a jumper on the
Tim Sanders assist 33 seconds into the half.
The lead for Shaw was extended to as much as 13 points, 46-33, with 14:46 remaining.
Clark Atlanta was able to pull within five points, 46-41, with 10:14 left after an 8-0 run. Five points during the run came from
Lawrance Freeman.
The lead was back to double digits for Shaw before
Joseph Hughes scored six-consecutive points, including the four-point play. Hughes was fouled just beyond the 3-point line in the act of shooting, the shot and the following FT were both good.
A 3-pointer from Freeman cut the deficit to one point, 54-53, with 6:41 left.
Enoch gave the Panthers the first lead since the opening minutes with a jumper on the Freeman assist, 57-56, with 5:23 showing on the clock.
After swapping the lead back-and-forth, Clark Atlanta took control of the game for good with a
Tim Sanders 3-pointer, 66-65, with 1:25 left in the game.
With the lead cut to one point, 72-71,
Derek Harper sealed the home victory with a pair of made FT attempts with five seconds remaining. A desperation 3-pointer from Shaw was no good to end the game.
THE NUMBERS:Clark Atlanta outscore Shaw 55-40 in the second half shooting 54.55 percent (18-for-33) from the floor and 16-for-23 (69.57 percent) from the FT line.
Enoch led all scorers with 17 points and fell one rebound shy of the double-double with nine rebounds.
Freeman tied his season0high with 15 points from the bench. Hughes scored 12 points and has now reached double-digit point totals in 3-of-4 games in December.
Sanders tied for the game-high with six assists to go with seven points and five rebounds.
The Panthers converted 23 turnovers into 24 points.
Clark Atlanta used a 38-33 advantage in rebounds, including 15 offensive rebounds, to maintain a 16-14 advantage in second chance points.
