Box Score Atlanta, Ga.---With a five set win over Paine College at Epps Gymnasium Tuesday, the Clark Atlanta University Lady Panthers are still in the hunt for a spot in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) women's volleyball championship tournament to be held in Birmingham, Alabama, November 10-12.
CAU (6-24, SIAC 6-9) played with alot of determination in its, 25-14, 29-27, 22-25, 21-25, 15-10, win against the Lady Lions. A host of Lady Panthers recorded double-digit kills led by junior Cori Smith with 13 followed by Sabrina Tucker and Sierra Scoggins with 11 each and Alexandria mattox who finished with 10. Defensively, the Lady Panthers held Paine to only two kills in the opening set and three kills in the final set for the win. With two conference games remaining in the regular season, both of which are at HOME, beginning with Fort Valley State University Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m., and Albany State Friday, Nov. 7th, at 6 p.m., for senior night, the Lady Panthers need both wins to capture the fourth spot and advance to the tournament. All CAU HOME volleyball games are FREE and are played at Epps Gymnasium.
