Atlanta, GA--- The Clark Atlanta University Lady Panthers picked up their first two wins of the season in straight sets against the Eagles of Toccoa Falls College at home and Spelman College on the road last weekend.

The Lady Panthers (2-7) fell short of a win to Emmanuel losing 3-0, in the first game of their Tri-match. CAU went back on the war path Saturday and competed in another tri-match hosted by Spelman College where they topped the Lady Jaguars in straight set, but fell short of win against Gulf Coast Community College losing 3-1.

Junior Chanel Trice lead the team in kills with a whopping 13 smack downs against Toccoa Falls while Danica Lawrence followed with 10. In a losing effort, senior Ashley Brooks topped all players with 10 kills on 28 attempts and Kailyn Blackmon recorded a team-high four service aces.

Currently, the Lady Panthers rank fourth in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) East Division as they head
to the SIAC cross over tournament, a three day tournament beginning Thursday, Sept. 20, through Saturday, Sept. 22, at Kentucky State.
