Director of Athletics Dr. Jerel Drew announced the hiring of Justin Mordecai as the Director of Athletic Communications on Friday, January 13, 2023.
Justin Mordecai enters his third year as Director of Athletic Communications at Clark Atlanta University following a stint as Director of Strategic Communications at Alabama State University.
Prior to Alabama State, Mordecai worked as an Athletic Communications Assistant at Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina.
While at Newberry he served as the primary contact for men's lacrosse, women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's golf.
Mordecai started his career as a student worker in 2017 with the University of West Georgia athletics department where he assisted in sports information, external operations, and marketing at West Georgia football and basketball games for two seasons. He also has experience as an operations volunteer for the 2021 Celebration Bowl, a 2021 Travel, Events, and Management in Sports ambassador, and working the 2021 PGA Tour merchandise shop at East Lake Golf Course in Atlanta.
Mordecai graduated from the University of West Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management in 2019. He also completed his Master of Science degree in Sport Management at the University of West Georgia in December 2021.
