Clark Atlanta Women's Golf Announces First Signing Class in Program History

Women's Golf inks first-four signees

ATLANTA – Clark Atlanta women's golf has announced the first four student-athletes to sign with the program ahead of its inaugural 2026-27 season. The Lady Panthers will begin competition in the spring of 2027 as members of the Peach Belt Conference.
The inaugural signing class includes:

Jaida Jacobs (Sophomore) – Porcupine, S.D. (Previous school: Maryland Eastern Shore)
MaKayla Franklin (Sophomore) – Lakeview, Mich. (Previous school: Alabama A&M)
Leiahnni Smith (Graduate) – Lima, Ohio (Previous school: Bethune-Cookman)
Trinity Watts-Nuckles (Freshman) – Montgomery, Ala. (Brewbaker Tech Magnet High School)

"Launching the first women's golf program at Clark Atlanta University is an incredible privilege, and joining the Peach Belt Conference makes that opportunity even more exciting," said head coach Erica Payton. "Our student-athletes will be challenged to compete against some of the best programs in Division II, and that's exactly the environment we want as we establish the standard for Clark Atlanta women's golf. We're excited to embrace the challenge, represent Clark Atlanta with pride and begin writing the first chapter in our program's history."
