Lady Panthers Demolish JCSU in 19-1 Senior Day Victory

Clark Atlanta honors five seniors on Senior Day 2025

POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. – In a fitting end to the 2025 season, the Clark Atlanta Lady Panthers' softball team run-ruled Johnson C. Smith in a dominant, 19-1, Senior Day victory on Tuesday afternoon. Clark Atlanta managed 17 hits led by Andreya Hunter with four hits in four plate appearances.

The Lady Panthers honored five seniors on Senior Day including Janiya Watts, Rasheedah Hasan, Shemia Clady, Sierra Lopez, and Johannas Bentley

Rasheedah Hasan led the Panthers in RBIs with five including a perfect 3-for-3 at bat, two runs, and one home run on the day. Johannas Bentley got the Panthers started early with a single to score Andreya Hunter and put Clark Atlanta on the board first with a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Hasan followed that up with a single to score Bentley and end the first frame with a 2-0 advantage.

The Lady Panthers exploded for a season-high 11 runs on nine hits in the second inning alone to take a commanding 13-0 lead in the bottom of the second. Clark Atlanta managed one run in the third on a Myia Lambert double that scored Shemia Clady to swell the lead to 14 runs.

JCSU scored an unearned run on an error to avoid the shutout but didn't find much offensive rhythm after that, bringing the run score to 14-1 going into the bottom of the fourth inning. Clark Atlanta continued to apply pressure tacking on five more runs to extend their lead to 19-1 at the end of the fourth frame. 18 runs is the largest deficit the Lady Panthers have held this season.

Clark Atlanta held JCSU scoreless in the top of the fifth to enact the run rule and secure the 19-1 victory over their CIAA opponent.
