Five Home Run Day Pushes CAU Past Trinity Baptist on Senior Night

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. | The Clark Atlanta women's softball team hit a total of five home runs across two games to take down Trinity Baptist College in a non-conference doubleheader on Friday night (Apr. 14).

 HOW IT HAPPENED (GM 1)
  • Rasheedah Hasan extended a 2-0 lead in the second inning to a 6-0 advantage after hitting her first grand slam of the season.
  • Johannas Bentley followed up with a home run to push the lead to 2-0 in the second frame.
  • Sierra Lopez and Bentley each singled to tack on two more scores for CAU in the fourth inning (9-2). 
  • CAU held on to win game one, 11-3. 
ON THE MOUND (GM 1)
  • Ymari Blackmon picked up the win on the mound, pitching six innings and striking out one batter.
INSIDE THE BOX (GM 1)
  • Clark Atlanta managed 12 hits total as a team.
  • Johannas Bentley and Rasheedah Hasan each hit a home run in the win.
  • Hasan went 3-of-4 at-bat with one homer, a triple, and five RBIs for CAU.
  • T'Maja Oges Moore went a perfect 2-of-2 at-bat with two RBIs and one stolen base.
  • Four Lady Panthers registered a multi-hit day.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GM 2)
  • Trinity Baptist College jumped in front, 2-0, in the second inning. 
  • Johannas Bentley reached first on an error to score Rasheedah Hasan and T'Maja Oges Moore, knotting the score at two apiece in the third frame.
  • Coreya Quarterman doubled to extend the lead to 4-2 in the third inning.
  • Sierra Lopez slammed a home run to push the advantage to 5-2 in the fourth.
  • Myia Lambert doubled to left field, bringing Oges Moore in for another score.
  • Johannas Bentley sent her second home run of the day to give CAU an 8-2 lead in the fourth frame.
  • Oges Moore homered to tack on two more runs in the fifth and secure the 10-2 road victory over TBC.
ON THE MOUND (GM 2) INSIDE THE BOX (GM 2)
  • The Lady Panthers logged 11 hits as a team.
  • T'Maja Oges Moore led CAU in hits with a team-high three. Moore also logged three runs and one home run in the win.
  • Johannas Bentley registered a home run and four RBIs for CAU.
  • Sierra Lopez logged a home run as well.
NEXT UP
The Lady Panthers return to conference action tomorrow as they remain in the Sunshine State to take on the Edward Waters Tigers in Jacksonville, Fla. in doubleheader action starting at 1 p.m.
