ATLANTA, Ga. | The Clark Atlanta women's tennis team picked up its second-straight win as they downed Georgia Southwestern State 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 7) inside the Clark Atlanta Tennis Courts. 

DOUBLES PLAY

Despite the win, the Lady Panthers fell behind in doubles play as Gabrielle Blanks and Madison Moffatt fell to the GSW duo of Sofia Kanarskaya and Geanna Richard 6-2 to open doubles action. CAU bounced back with a win from the pairing of Shani Idlette and Kristen Blount as they emerged victorious over Maddie Barnes and Maya Boynton 7-6 (4). Shereese Henry and Jumai Muhammed ended doubles play with a 6-3 loss to Easton Cummings and Emily McClure to close out doubles.

SINGLES PLAY

The Lady Panthers went 5-1 in singles play to escape with the win. Gabrielle Blanks started singles action for CAU with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Geanna Richard. Madison Moffatt followed up with a 6-0, 6-0 win of her own over Emily McClure. Kristen Blount fell short 6-0, 6-3 to Sofia Kanarskaya in the next match. 

Shani Idlette was able to pick up a crucial 6-4, 6-2 victory over Maya Boynton followed by a 6-3, 4-6, 10-3 tie-breaker win from Jumai Muhammed over Maddie Barnes. Shereese Henry ended singles play for the Lady Panthers with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Easton Cummings.
